Did you know that for every $1 billion of construction, approximately $500 million is materials cost, 20% of that material aggregate is scrap, which means that $100 million goes to waste? To date, only 10% of Arizona Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste has been diverted from landfills. With Julie's help and expertise, we can do better! Julie offers sustainable consulting services to the design and construction industry through SitePlus, LLC. She provides construction waste recycling services, including the coordination of recyclables, waste management plans and LEED coordination. Additional LEED services include tracking and coordination with specialty contractors for the appropriate Material and Resource and Indoor Environmental Quality credits. Julie has been has been in the building and design industry for over 25 years including 8 years as a consultant and previous positions with McCarthy Building Companies, Gould Evans, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and SmithGroup. Julie is on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Recycling Coalition and is an active member of the U. S. Green Building Council, Arizona Association for Economic Development, ASU Alliance for Construction Excellence, Phoenix Community Alliance and the Society for Marketing Professional Services. She was on the Host Committee in 2009 when the USGBC national conference, Greenbuild, was in Phoenix, and was on the Scottsdale Green Building Advisory Committee in 2007-08. |
