Gene Dunn

Mr. Dunn has a wealth of experience in understanding and helping to protect our environment. He comes to us with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, with a strong emphasis on the sciences. He has worked for the US Bureau of Reclamation, the Soil Conservation Service, and the US Forest Service. He worked as an associate engineer on large and small irrigation and power projects; working with farmers and ranchers and the public to conserve and protect our environment. His last Federal work experience was to take part in a recreational study sponsored by the Forest Service through Green University of Vermont.

He has dedicated his life to educating children and young adults with the privilege of teaching children for 28 years. He worked as a group leader for the Youth Conservation Corps where they were physically working to improve the environment. His duties were to teach the appreciation and value of hard work and to enable them to have a love of the beauty that surrounds us all.

He is now in the process of writing a children’s book on recycling for our environment. He believes that true science education elicits the help of others to preserve, love and protect our environment.
